QCDA Tests and exams support

On 7 May 2009, the Expert Group on Assessment released its final report.

This report included a number of recommendations, including moving the key stage 2 national curriculum tests from May to mid-June. QCA is currently in discussions with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and others about the implications of the recommended date change.

DCSF and QCA recognise that schools are beginning to make, or have already made, planning decisions for the 2009/10 academic year. Schools should use the tests dates published in the 2009 key stage 2 Assessment and reporting arrangements for academic planning. We will ensure that if there are any changes to the published test dates, these changes are communicated directly to schools and LAs. This communication will include information and advice for any schools affected by the change.
