The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) is currently operating certain of its non-regulatory functions under the name Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA).
QCDA is responsible for developing the curriculum, improving and delivering assessments and reforming qualifications.
QCDA will continue to support schools, colleges and local authorities by delivering programmes previously managed by the National Assessment Agency and on behalf of QCA.

Institute of Educational Assessors granted Chartered status
02 April 2008
From 2 April 2008 the Institute of Educational Assessors (IEA) will formally be known as the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors (CIEA) after being granted a Royal Charter by the Privy Council office.
QCDA is working with the awarding bodies to develop and professionalise examining and assessment. Find out more:
